Music & Arts Foundation

Music and Arts Foundation

The string ensemble program was created by Dr. Robert and Carolyn Marlett and continues under the direction of the Music & Arts Foundation's Board of Directors.  It is funded by individuals and organizations who know the great value of music in the intellectual development of our children, and the positive effect it has on a community's quality of life, sense of purpose, growth and financial strength.

Wise Youth Strings Ensemble

The Wise Youth Strings Ensemble is a program created to provide free strings instruction to all children (7 - 17 year of age) regardless of financial need or ethnic background.

Parents wishing to enroll their children are required to purchase or rent a correct-sized violin, cello or viola and ensure that their children have enough practice time each week and proper dress for public performances. The Foundation may assist in need-based circumstances.

The lessons are taught by a qualified instructor(s) for one hour each week, with an occasional public recital. The parent assures that their child is at each lesson ten minutes in advance and brings their music and equipment.
